American Institute of Industrial Engineers described Engr Humphrey Adibe as a credit to Nigeria

In 1964 when Engr Humphrey C. N. Adibe was doing a program at Syracuse University New York, he gave a speech at the Syracuse Chapter 13 of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers (now Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers) on the night of 10th October 1964.

After his speech, the Institute was so impressed by his delivery (which they described as “wonderful”) that the very next day, the Chapter’s President at the time, Joseph B. Puchalski, wrote a letter dated 11th October 1964, on behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors of the Institute, to the Nigeria’s Consul General in New York describing Humphrey Adibe as a “credit to his nationality”. “As we Americans say, if there are any more at home like Mr. Adibe, you will succeed in short order”, the letter continued. The letter urged Nigeria to recognize Adibe for a job well done.

Copied in the letter are Adibe himself, Dr. A. Dickerman, Mr. H. Hughes, Dr. C.L.M. Kerkhoven, Mr. R.S. Lewis and Mr. W. Steinle. See a copy of the letter below.
