Engr. Humphrey C. N. Adibe enrolled at the prestigious Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS), Onitsha, Anambra State in 1946 and graduated in 1950. At DMGS, he lived in Tugwell House (named after Archbishop Herbert Tugwell, the inaugural Anglican Bishop on the Niger)
Some of Adibe’s classmates at DMGS were Most Rev Jonathan Onyemelukwe (former Archbishop on the Niger, Anglican Communion), Dr. Dozie Ikedife (former President of Ohaneze Ndigbo), Dr. Fred Onyemelukwe (Symbol Hospital Enugu), Dr. Bartram Igbogbahaka (Ucheoma Hospital Aba), Igwe (Col) Christian Ude of Ngwo (rtd), Dr. Ephraim Mgbojikwe (Emmanuel Clinics Enugu), Dr Eliezer Okafor (Bex Hospital Onitsha), Engr Clement Onyemelukwe (renowned Electrical Engineer) and Justice T. C. Anomnachi, to mention but a few. Most of them have passed on. May their souls rest in peace.
